Fresh off a $36.8 million NTIA grant, Eridan, developer of the world’s smallest, lightest, and most efficient outdoor 5G radio, is bringing its breakthrough 5G radio technology to market with the launch of its Miracle® radio unit (RU) and will be in attendance at MWC Barcelona. The Miracle® RU is powered by a revolutionary all-digital polar modulation-based transmitter that produces industry-leading clean signals with ultra-low EVM. The Miracle® RU redefines wireless communication with its breakthrough coverage and throughput at a mere 1W output, achieving this with less than 40W total power consumption. After successful demonstrations with customers around the world, Eridan is now shipping to customers and accelerating production in Q2 2025.

“Eridan’s Miracle® RU is set to disrupt the 5G landscape with unheard-of coverage and throughput levels in the world’s smallest and lightest outdoor-rated unit, and does it all with significantly lower output and power consumption than legacy radios,” said Omid Tahernia, Eridan’s recently appointed CEO.

As the demand for widespread 5G connectivity intensifies, Eridan has worked for more than a decade and holds over 40 global patents associated with its technology that has redefined expectations for 5G radio performance.

Key Features of the Miracle® RU Include:

  • Breakthrough Coverage and Throughput: 5W radio coverage with 1W power; ultra-clean signals that shatter traditional EVM measurements
  • Dramatically Lower Power Consumption: 3x lower than legacy radios
  • World’s Smallest and Lightest Radio: Approximately 2kg
  • Modular Radio Architecture: Agile band deployment from 600MHz to 4.2GHz

NTIA Grant
As further evidence of the significance of its technology, Eridan was recently awarded a $36.8 million grant from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) under the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund’s second Notice of Funding Opportunity for radio unit (RU) commercialization.

Eridan was among eight companies selected to accelerate the development and commercialization of its open RU products from a list of 227 applicants in this round of funding from NTIA’s Wireless Innovation Fund, a $1.5 billion initiative supported by the CHIPS and Science Act to develop open, resilient, and cost-effective wireless networks.
